Thirteen years into this work, we have made a choice that runs against much of the advice a growing business receives. We have chosen to stay small. Not by accident, and not for lack of ambition, but because we came to believe that the thing we value most cannot be manufactured at scale. It has to be kept, deliberately, by keeping the circle close.
There is a quiet pressure in every profession to grow, to add, to expand the list of names until faces become numbers. We understand the logic, and we have chosen a different one. A boutique practice keeps its client list small enough that we can hold each relationship in mind, not as an entry in a system, but as a family whose particular hopes we actually know.
When the circle stays small, something changes in the texture of the work. We remember your story without being reminded of it. We notice when something in your life has shifted. We can pick up a conversation where it last ended, months ago, without you having to explain yourself from the beginning. This is not a feature we advertise. It is simply what becomes possible when you are not stretched thin.
Scale has its gifts, and we do not pretend otherwise. But some things do not survive being scaled. Attention is one of them. Trust, built slowly and personally, is another. We would rather do a smaller thing with genuine care than a larger thing at a distance, and after thirteen years, that instinct has only grown firmer.
We measure the practice not by how many we serve, but by how well we know the few.
Good financial guidance is not really about products; it is about people, and people are best served by someone who has the room to truly listen. A close relationship means we can be honest with you, and you with us. It means the difficult conversations, the ones that matter most, happen between people who actually know each other, not between a client and a call centre.
It also means we are here for the long arc. Financial lives are lived over decades, across weddings and worries and the slow raising of children. Staying boutique lets us walk that whole distance beside a family, rather than meeting them briefly and moving on to the next name on a list.
So when people ask why we have not grown larger, the honest answer is that we grew in a different direction. We chose depth over breadth, faces over numbers, the long relationship over the quick one. After thirteen years in Anand, that choice still feels right, and we intend, quietly and gladly, to keep making it.
